Full Council
The full council has overall collective responsibility for the governance, management, financial probity and activities undertaken by the Parish Council. Some functions can be delegated to committees of the council who must act within terms of reference formally agreed by the full council. The full council generally meets monthly except in August.

Annual Parish
All Parish Councils are required by law to hold an Annual Parish Meeting, which must take place between 1st March and the 1st of June. The main purpose is to enable Dersingham residents who are on the local government electoral register to have their say on anything they consider is important to the community. This is not a Meeting of the Parish Council but a meeting for residents of the village facilitated by the Parish Council.

Annual Parish Council
Every year the Parish Council is required to hold an Annual Meeting. This meeting is always held in May. This is mainly an administrative meeting dealing with matters relating to the overall management and governance of the Parish Council. Among the business will be the appointment of Chairman and Vice Chairman for the Council and members to serve on the Council's Committees.

Communications Committee
The Committee has delegated responsibility for communications between the Parish Council and village residents. This includes production and content of Village Voice magazine, the maintenance and content of the public website and village noticeboards, and any required media and public awareness campaigns. The committee normally meets bi-monthly. The full Terms of Reference may be found in the Governance section of this website.

Environment Committee
The Committee has delegated responsibility for managing and maintaining Parish Council owned street furniture and equipment on council owned land. The committee is also responsible for some grass cutting within the village and maintenance of the War Memorial and gardens in Station Road. Please refer to the Services section of this website to see exactly which assets are owned and maintained by the Parish Council. The committee is also responsible for advising and promoting measures for improving the general village environment. Meetings are normally held monthly except during August. Finance and Administration Committee
The Committee has responsibilities in a range of areas including financial monitoring, budgeting, council administration and governance, insurance, loan repayments and payment of grants. The committee also has responsibility for council running costs, council owned land and buildings and leases. Meetings are normally held monthly except during August. Planning Committee
The Committee has delegated responsibility to consider and make comments to the Borough Council on all non-major planning applications on behalf of the Parish Council. The Committee is also authorised to make representations to the Borough Council in respect of planning appeals, or to elect a member to attend hearings on behalf of the Parish Council. Meetings are normally held monthly provided there are planning applications to consider. The full Terms of Reference may be found in the Governance section of this website.

Staffing Committee
This Committee has delegated responsibility for most staff related matters including authorisation of the payment of salaries, PAYE and national insurance. Due to the nature of the business, Committee meetings are always held in private and are not open to the public. The full Terms of Reference may be found in the Governance section of this website.

Recreation Committee
This Committee was responsible for the recreation ground and children's play area and was merged with the Environment Committee in November 2018.

Dersingham Centre Committee
This Committee was responsible for the project to build the Dersingham Village Centre. The Committee was disbanded in September 2018.
